The A320 Family features the widest fuselage of any single-aisle aircraft. This provides wider seats for passengers and a larger aisle that enables faster boarding and deplaning, as well an easier movement of passengers, cabin crew and service carts during flight.

The A320 Family offers not only an optimised cabin cross-section for passengers, it has also set a new standard for cargo transport.

Fly-by-wire is an electronically managed flight control system, which uses computers to make aircraft easier to handle while further enhancing safety. First introduced on a commercial jetliner on the Airbus A320 in 1988, it has become an industry standard.

Successfully used by Airbus manufacturing since 1997, laser beam welding (LBW) continues to be explored.
