Singapore students are given a preview of Airbus’ next Fly Your Ideas competition

Airbus is preparing for its second Fly Your Ideas challenge, which encourages student teams to develop innovative and eco-efficient ideas that could shape the future of aviation and further reduce the air transport industry's environmental impact.
The 2010 Singapore Airshow enabled Airbus to brief local students on the upcoming competition – which will be officially launched this July – while also learning more about the company and its career opportunities.
More than 2,350 students from 82 countries around the world entered the initial Fly Your Ideas challenge, which was completed in June 2009. The second-place team in this inaugural challenge was from the National University of Singapore, which proposed the use of solar cell technology that integrates photovoltaic cells to generate electricity aboard aircraft.
